Art Lesson, 31t January 2012

This is my 1st Draft Brainstorm

Today on our ART class, we started talking about animations. How they are made, how we can create them and how we can make them creative using simple materials. We watched two short animations from students (Renato Cha and Soraya), and we also watched a couple of animations from YouTube. After wards, Mrs Barker set us our task to be completed in groups or individually and our task was to create an animation. We had to BRAINSTORM our ideas and share them in our groups - the best idea would be the final idea. Our topic had to be about Earth Day - so in the future we could either show to Mr Thody or in the assembly. I am at the moment still working on my brainstorm, although I know more or less what will happen. The details, colours, materials and characters I have not decided quite yet, though I already have some options to choose from.

Good-bye, ART....

I finished my final piece, I will still try to add some details so I get a higher mark... I hope all of those lunch times and after school times will help my final work. In conclusion, I will miss ART-MAD but I know I will inprove my understanding of this decipline next term; I understood the concept although my painting could have been better. I should have added some evident brush strokes and more shading.....
Here are some pictures of my final work; Hope is once again set....

From the photo... To the sketch.... to the final piece, FINALLY!

ART lesson, 2nd September

In our lesson, we talked about how to improve our final pieces and also about the end of the ART period and by
that I mean our critical study- Basically a summary of our main unit, in our case "Still Life"; We have to show some techniques and compare 4 artists, 2 pictures each. Mrs Barker explained how the critical study works, what we should include and mainly how to get a high mark on it. She also told us some techniques and also we started painting our drawings. Mine isn't what you can call beautiful, but i'll get there. The summary of the lesson is that, we discussed andput our hands "na massa"!

ART HW #1

- Still life with a daisy and anemones, Van Gogh

- Still life with apples, Paul Cezanne

Analisation:

-The colours show the main difference between the paintings. Both use bright colours but they use different technique. In Van Gogh's, the background seems as if it is dotted; in Cezanne’s, the background varies a lot, by using fabric in the background. In the paintings we saw in class, about what the objects meant, and, the flowers in Van Gogh’s painting could mean sign of happiness and wealth. In Cezanne’s, the fabric may mean luxury and the many oranges could mean sign of wealth (?) because of the amount. In my opinion, the effect that Van Gogh’s painting brought to me, was that, there was some come kind of happiness in the air. Cezanne’s painting brought a sadish/ questioning feeling because the colours got me a bit confused; as if I were in a happy but at the same time agonising place.
